Jessica & Michael Renaissance Wedding

Jessica & Michael Renaissance Wedding

A June wedding is always awesome. But they are even more awesome when your last name is Cabral. Before you ask, no we are not related or at least we do not think so. But we may have to look into that later on in the future. Enough about our family tree, let’s get to the wedding day story.

The day started bright and early with our groom Michael getting ready. Despite many attempts from us along with all of the groomsmen and a few neighbors, Michael is an Ottawa Senators fan. I know we don’t get it, but we tried. Everyone knows your either a Maple Leaf fan or your wrong. Even with his poor selection of hockey team we managed to get great images with this lively group. A group that become more lively when we made it to Jessica getting ready for her wedding day. We were pleased to see the awesome last name on the hanger that held her wedding dress. We were staring so long at it that we were told to take a photo, and we did. Along with many other images captured but we had to head to Our Lady of Fatima and get these two married.

After a wonderful wedding ceremony we packed up everyone into the bus and headed up the street to Gage Park. We love these Brampton weddings. It’s a highly under rated city for wedding’s. So many great spots and free parking on the weekends. This awesome bridal party stayed awesome all day. It goes to show that large bridal party’s work as long as everyone gets why they are there. After our superb afternoon in the great city of Brampton we headed down the street to Renaissance by the creek. There we found out that we were not the only Cabral’s who could party.

7th Annual Bloorcourt Festival

7th Annual Bloorcourt Festival

This years Bloorcourt festival took an artistic turn with many unveiling’s taking place. The BIA took on a vital role in adding art to the community in a few different forms and in a few not so usual spots. A new mural was added just east of Dufferin, as well as two new poems that everyone passing by can enjoy one in front of the Gladstone library while the other sits on Westmoreland. The festival was the perfect time to unveil these treasures to everyone while they enjoyed all of the food our local vendors had to offer.

The wonderful new poems came from the minds of Gianna and Anne Michaels. While touching on our past and leading us into to the future these poems are filled with love and words that will be here in Bloorcourt for years to come. When you are on the corner of Bloor and Dufferin heading east you will find a far more colourful walk. These comes courtesy of artist Peru and the beautiful mural he has given us. Also coming into our community is the Bell Box project which brings colour and life to those rather boring brown Bell boxes. You will find them popping up all over Toronto but ours are the prettiest.

Our diverse community here is a strong one with many vendors working together and making our area better for all. These includes the many wonderful restaurants that serve food and drink from all over the world. To our very niche businesses selling goods and services that you cannot find anywhere else. These businesses are always finding new and exciting ways to contribute to this vibrant community so pass by often.

Juliana & Joseph – The Venetian Wedding

Juliana & Joseph – The Venetian Wedding

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of being at this wedding and documenting it from morning to well into the night. It was a fun filled day spent with an amazing group of people we now call our friends. We had a full crew there to capture everything from photo and video to a same day edit that we think was our best on yet. We will be sharing that right here as well as all of our social media accounts.

Our day started bright and early to get our groom Joseph ready for his wedding day. He was ready to go from the moment the sun came up it seems. Everything was in it’s place and ready to go the show on the road. Just the way we like it. With a little help from his best man and groomsmen we had the first chapter of our story written in record time. With a few moments to spare we had a shot of espresso and headed to get our bride Juliana ready for her princess moment.

Much like the grooms part Juliana was ready to go and she had all of her things ready to go as well. Telling the story of the wedding day takes many different people and the bride and groom are the lead authors. Without them being prepared and present the story and show cannot go on. A few detail shots out of the way and we needed all hands on deck to get our bride into her wedding dress. After a bit of pulling and pushing Juliana was ready to make that walk downstairs and off to the wedding ceremony with time to spare.

There was a near packed house at Merciful Redeemer Parish already there waiting for us. I guess they were just as excited as we were to get going. It was a beautiful ceremony with a few surprises as Juliana’s sister sang a wonderful version of Ave Maria. After all of the kisses and high fives we headed to Humber Arboretum for a relaxing walk through the park. But enough with the chill time we had a party to get to, one that would have another surprise in store for us.

It is always a great atmosphere at the Venetian banquet hall when we get a chance to pass by. After mingling a bit with the well over 300 guests we needed to get back to work and get the night time festivities under way. After our great dinner we had front row seats for a performance from Joee who passed by a sang a few of his hits. Juliana and Joseph’s wedding day was a fairy tale and we were just blessed to be able to capture it.

Lakeshore Engagement Session – Amanda & Michael

Lakeshore Engagement Session – Amanda & Michael

Living in Southern Ontario in the summer means that once and awhile you will head to the lakeshore to escape the heat. On many days the temperature is only a few degrees cooler, but it will do wonders. It was on one of those heat filled days that we headed to the lakeshore to capture Amanda & Michael engagement session. Not just one lakeshore location but 3 in total. A few being “secret” spots we have saved for special occasions.

We started in beautiful downtown Burlington on a Friday morning. Then headed east along Lakeshore stopping along the way at places we knew of , and a few we didn’t. Sometime we wanted the rays of the sun to helps us with contrast and other times we wanted to shade. It also helped that Amanda & Michael had 3 wardrobes in total to use that day. We like the subtle differences in both location and wardrobe. It can add to the depth of the engagement session.

Despite being somewhat threatened by a few geese at one location we seemed to make it through the day. Our footwear may not feel the same way as they were dragged through a few poop filled steps as we danced around those pesky geese. We also managed to throw in a lunch at McDonalds’ which we do not recommend all the time but once and awhile is pretty awesome. Get ready to see these two later on this year after their October wedding.

Motorcycle Wedding – Jacqueline & Albert

Motorcycle Wedding – Jacqueline & Albert

Best title ever don’t you think. Motorcycle wedding kind of takes the cake when add that as the title of your blog post. Almost gets you a little too excited, like it’s something you may not have seen before and thought you could not add the two things. Motorcycles and weddings don’t really match. That is until you meet these two awesome people. Jacqueline owns Techniques Hair Studio down the street from us and one day passed by our studio to let us know that she was getting married. After having client after client tell her about their weddings, there was one thing in common. We were the photographers.

When Albert finally proposed she walked the few blocks between our businesses and booked her wedding date. We were a little excited when we got the run down of the day, or should we say the prop that would be used in many of the wedding photography that day. Albert kind of likes his motorcycle, if you were present for the vows you know what I we mean. It was all Jacqueline told us was a must, that and the she would look super awesome in white leather. We have to state that when a client comes through on a great idea we get excited. To top it all off they wanted graffiti alley as the location for their wedding photos taken prior to their ceremony. A bride with a plan is a special thing and we encourage it.

We love how all of these images tell the story of this couple. It was a laid back wedding and we had plenty of opportunities to tell their story on their wedding day. Personality goes a long way and this couple has plenty of it. It just goes to show you just being your self helps capture your wedding day in a fun way. One which you can be proud of years after. We hope you love these images as much as we loved capturing them
