Diana & Andrew – Embassy Grand
How did the two of you meet?
Andrew and I met through my cousin Alex. Alex went to college with Andrew and for the three years that they were together she would always tell us about each other and how we just had to meet because we were perfect. She always said that we would get married one day. She pretty much had us married with kids before we even met. We finally met and she was right about everything.
How long have you been together ?
We have been together for 4.5 years. April will be 5 years of dating.
Tell us about your favorite date together
Our favorite date together was near the beginning of our relationship when we went to the zoo. The penguins had just arrived as a new exhibit which is why we went because I (Diana) LOVE penguins and had never seen them before. It was such an amazing day, that neither of us will forget. Leading up to seeing them I was so giddy I felt like a little kid again. When I finally saw the penguins it was incredible. I got so excited that I started jumping up and down and laughing as its what I do when I get really happy and excited. We both feel that sharing that moment together made it even better. It was that day that we both realized we loved each other.
What is your favorite thing about one another?
My favorite thing about Diana is her smile and her selfless and loving personality. She is always doing things for others and goes out of her way to help them and make them happy and she doesn’t ask for anything in return. Sometimes she doesn’t even realize she is doing it because she doesn’t have to think about it. It makes me want to go the extra mile for her.
My favorite thing about Andrew is how he always go out of his way to make me feel loved and important. There isn’t a day that goes by that he doesn’t do or say something to make sure I know how he feels. Whether its something small like sending me a sweet text message or planning little surprises, he always shows it. He also shows it by doing things for me that aren’t necessarily his top choice, like coming to the grand canyon with me. If he knows it will make me happy he does it. He just wants to see me smile. I also love his sense of humor. He is always making me laugh, regardless of whether I’m the butt of the joke or not.
How Did He Propose?
Andrew proposed with a scavenger hunt a couple days before our 3 year anniversary. He is always doing things like this so I didn’t think anything of it. I just thought it was something for our anniversary. He left me a note with the instructions and I had to follow each clue which had an object attached to it. The hunt sent me from my house to my sisters and finally to his. When I got to his house no one was around, not even him. I followed the arrows which led to an IPad with a message. When I turned around he was there to greet me with flowers. Still I had no idea. He gave me my last object and when I put them together it was “Will you marry me?” He knows I love that kind of stuff so for me it was the perfect proposal and I wouldn’t change anything. It was so much fun, and it made it better because I had absolutely no idea what was happening until it was spelled out for me.
We are an easy going couple that are always laughing and having fun. Andrew is always shaking his head at me when I do something weird. It’s a head shake that I love
