Natalie & Michael’s Wedding

How did the two of you meet?
We met through mutual friends while in high school. The first time we spoke
was when we were heading to a club for Halloween. I was having everyone
over at my house for some food and drinks before heading out. Unknowingly,
we showed up in matching costumes, Mike a referee and I a football player.
It was from that night on that our crazy journey began.

How long have you been together ?
We have known each other for about 10 years. It will be 8 years this
October as a couple.

Tell us about your favorite date together.
It’s hard to think of one favorite date!! I know this may sound cliche
however, me and mike lead very busy lives and it is very hard to spend
quality time together so any chance we get means the world to us both. We
enjoy the quiet nights in with our dog just as much as a romantic dinner.

My favorite thing about Mike is that he has such a big heart. On the
outside he seems like this “tough” guy but when you get to really know him
you see how generous and how much he cares for the people around him. He
will do anything for anyone, including strangers. His willingness to help
has no limit.

My favorite thing about Natalie is her ability to make everyone around her
laugh and feel loved. She always has so much on her plate yet she will
always find time to share a laugh or make you smile when you are having a
bad day. She is always putting everyone else’s needs ahead of her own.

 How did he propose?
When we hit the 4 year mark, we seriously talked about our future together
and taking the next step however, I was in school and the timing was off.
Once I graduated and we both had careers, I had known that it was going to
be coming.  We had planned a weekend getaway in Blue Mountain and had a
couples massage scheduled at the Scandavian Spa. When we arrived at the
resort and started unpacking in the room, I could tell that Mike was
nervous and acting different. I remember asking “what is wrong with you?”
and laughing at him. The next time I turned to face him he was on one knee,
holding my beautiful ring and asking me to spend the rest of my life with
him. I immediately said YES! This may not sound like the most romantic
proposal, but you have to know Mike and I to understand. We cannot keep
surprises, secrets or rather any information from each other. We are the
worst! You should see us at Christmas. Chances are we already know every
gift under the tree. Our friends and family complain but hey this is us.
So I’m sure every minute that Mike had to keep this surprise was
excruciating and can understand that less than 10 minutes in our arrival he
popped the question. It worked out for the best as we got to enjoy our
entire weekend getaway as a newly engaged couple.

It all came together in the end. We are so proud of our daughter for having the vision and the energy in seeing her dream wedding come true and we are also proud of our son-in-law in having the strength and courage while caught up in a day full of emotions.
Thank you for capturing the love, the tears, the laughter and all the moments we will revisit each time we look at these amazing photos and memories.
