When we tell you that Nicole and Ryan have had a very long engagement we are not kidding. According to Ryan they have been dating their whole lives. You guys have to read their story it’s a really good one.
How did the two of you meet?
How did Ryan and I meet? Hmm well that’s an interesting story. So interesting in fact that it occurred before Ryan and I were even born! It all started off on September 27th 1986. My father and mother’s wedding ceremony had just ended in church however, they were running late. My mother and the next bride (Ryan’s mother) were introduced. A light conversation was had and both sets of our parents went on their merry way with their wedding days.
It was later that night that our parents ran into each other at the airport. Our newlywed parents were on their way to the same destination and hotel. Needless to say, all four hit it off as friends and spent their whole honeymoon together!
Once our parents returned to Toronto, it wasn’t long until they realized that this friendship was going to last! Flash forward to a year and my parents receive the glorious gift of a daughter. 9 months later, I’m lucky enough to be in the delivery room waiting for my Ryan to be born. Ryan and I spent many holidays and weekends together. Ryan was always described as a loud and hyperactive little boy however, whenever I was around he was usually shy and hiding in a corner. My mother always said it was because he “liked me” I just thought he was “weird” and probably had “couties”. Don’t get me wrong, I had my issues too! I’m sure my constant and lame mushroom haircut wasn’t helping and I sucked at video games! Ryan and I drifted apart in our high school years however, we were able to reconnect in our 20s. I never really believed in faith but, with a history like ours… It’s hard to escape!
Ps. We were married on September 27th 2014. Which also happens to be my fathers birthday
How long have you been together ?
Nicole’s answer: going on four years this December.

Tell us about your favorite date together.
Our fav date night? We love to just hangout at home. Ryan and I share a lot of the same interests and would rather cozy up to one another in our home. We would probably make dinner together and spend the evening playing video games and watching out fav movies with our puppy Luke.
What is your favorite thing about one another?
Our favourite thing about one another is that we have a lot in common. We truly are each others best friend!
How did he propose?
How did Ryan propose? Well, I was getting ready for my grandparents wedding anniversary when Ryan exchanged my promise ring with an engagement ring. I went to put my ring on and got the surprise of lifetime! I was soo shocked and surprised that I had to make Ryan repeat his whole speech. Of course I said yes and we were able to tell my family that evening and celebrate!
