United Athletics Part Two

A few months ago a brand new gym United Athletics opened up right on our block. We were asked to pass by there place and take a few images to help get the word out in our community. The place is just huge and can hold many people doing many different things. Anything from Fitness Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Yoga and Strength Training can be covered at United Athletics.

Here is just a little write up about United Athletics.

WHO WE ARE

United Athletics is a multi-disciplinary, health-oriented organization. The facility brings sports and people of different backgrounds together to create a healthy and active community.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that the practice of various athletic disciplines can lead to performance excellence, all while creating a welcoming environment, where each person is recognized and valued.

MISSION

Our mission is to guide residents of Toronto (and potentially the world) on the path of human development through Body, Mind and Spirit.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is described as “a grappling art, which becomes a physical and mental chess game played upon the mat.” Adult classes are for both men and women of any age and experience. Classes are always fully supervised and safe for all participants. Every class begins with warm-ups, stretching, calisthenics, and strength building exercises. Techniques taught include throws and take-downs, control moves, immobilizations, and submission techniques.

Fitness Boxing is a non-contact, co-ed exercise program developed from the technical boxing skills that Olympic athletes develop during competition training. No skill level is required and intensity levels are based on individual preference.
